Visionary Syndicate Early Bird Goodies
~ for an inspiring December ~
woo hoo! Secret bonus page for exclusive insider geniuses right here!
I’ve spent some time thinking about what kinds of materials might be most useful in preparation for starting the Syndicate.
The first section of the Syndicate is all about planning for success in your brand building efforts: thinking about how you learn best, setting your schedule, etc. That’s where you will begin in January.
So I think what I would like you to do is just start warming up (or reheating) your creative muscles. I put together some activities here (some new recordings, some a kind of playlist of past creative prompts) that will give you a chance to simply PLAY. Remind your system that so much learning and developing happens when you just mess around and see what happens.
The results of your play don’t matter so much, though I won’t be surprised if some new ideas or interests get sparked. Mostly I want you to have fun.
1.
VISIT THE WORLD OF YOUR BRAND: A GUIDED MEDITATION. 10 MINUTES.
Make yourself comfy, and get a pen and paper handy. When the meditation completes, feel free to record your experience in words, doodles, or both.
Keep in mind that you can do this meditation as many times as you want. There’s no pressure to be wildly imaginative. Just see what comes and be curious about it.
2.
THE TRASH HEAP OF INFINITE POSSIBILITY
In this fast moving collage practice, there is no glueing or taping. You don’t even have to cut or tear. All you need is stuff and a camera.
Give this one 20 minutes total. Do it as many times as you like. Notice which images pop out to you.
3.
WORD PLAY: HORRIBLE TAGLINES
One of my favorite real life bad taglines. It turned this little bookstore into a cult phenomenon.
You might want a silly friend for this one. Do it when you aren’t in “work mode.” The whole prompt: Brainstorm 20 of the very worst taglines you can think of for your business (or business-to-be). The worst. Using any definition of “worst” you like.
What do you notice when you read these afterwards?
4.
BIG VISION TIME.
In our last Friday Fondue, we explored visioning - and did some fun writing exercises to help get to the heart of your vision for your work. Here’s the recording. Visioning practices are really powerful the more regularly you do them - your vision changes and expands over time, making more feel (and actually become) possible.
Carve out an hour, make some tea, and follow along with us.
I hope you enjoyed these prompts: one meditation, one visual practice, and one change to play with words and meanings.
Feel free to share any reflections or discoveries with me at amy@amywalsh.net.
We begin on January 1. Can’t wait to see you there!
